About Zoniedude
After 30 years writing nonfiction I retired and decided to try writing fiction.
I began by taking several courses in creative writing from Phoenix College. I had already taken an online course in creative writing in 1993 and had written several short stories at that time.
In 1970, while still in the Marines, I sent a humor essay to San Francisco Chronicle syndicated humorist Art Hoppe. He responded saying that he received a lot of attempts to write in his job but mine was truly well done. In fact he actually used edited versions of my stuff under his name. He encouraged me to take up writing, and I sent him some subsequent essays before enrolling in college.
During one summer in college I wrote a weekly humor column called “The Amiable Rogue” that was published in the local free distribution shopper.
I had also written a book of poems that I had bound when I graduated from college in 1973. Some of those poems are included in the poetry section.
The only published work I was paid for was a nonfiction article for Phoenix magazine about the Voyager spacecraft.
